Growing your own gourmet mushrooms at home

Fresh mushrooms are already growing inside your kit.
All you need to do is cut, mist, wait, harvest, and enjoy.

Your Intermountain Gourmet grow block has been fully colonized and is ready to fruit. With a little fresh air, indirect light, and regular misting, you should see baby mushrooms begin to form in the coming days.

Quick Start: The 60-Second Version

Just Cut, Spray, and Watch Grow

  1. Open the box and remove the spray bottle.
  2. Cut a large “X” in the exposed plastic, about ¼ inch deep into the block. Do not peel the plastic open.
  3. Fill the spray bottle with clean tap water.
  4. Place the kit indoors in a spot with fresh air and indirect light.
  5. Mist the cut area 2–3 times per day.
  6. Harvest when ready, usually once caps begin to open or flatten.

Most kits fruit best with humidity, airflow, and patience, which are apparently still cheaper than buying a climate-controlled mushroom lab for your kitchen.

Meet your mushroom

Which mushroom are you growing?

Your kit may contain one of our gourmet culinary varieties:

    • Pearl Oyster
    • Italian Oyster
    • Shiitake
    • Lion’s Mane
    • Pioppino
    • Chestnut

Each mushroom has its own shape, texture, and flavor, but the basic care is similar: give it humidity, fresh air, indirect light, and consistent attention.
